The Storytellers - God Runs the Story Forward
We conclude our “Storytellers” sermon series this week in Luke 15. This chapter in the Bible is filled with parables relating to the value that Jesus places on every human being that’s ever roamed on this earth. In short, He is seeking us! He wants to bring us home and build that relationship. Jesus is willing to leave the 99 to find the one. Luke 15:10 says “Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” And in the second half of the chapter, we see one of the most famous parables…that of “the Prodigal Son.” Though it is still our decision to choose Him, He truly wants every single one of us to come to Him, and He will receive us with open arms, just as we are. If we’re already believers, we get the opportunity to participate in showcasing and sharing the love of the Father with others. It is not us who can save, but we join the “search party,” sharing the good news of Jesus with love, and then let God do the rest. Everyone needs Him, because He truly is the answer to what we’re searching for within our souls, as He famously says in John 14:6. And that is a story worth sharing. We hope you found this 4-part series edifying and insightful! Have a blessed week! Phos Church Sunday Sermon 11-2-2025

The Storytellers - Living the Story
This week, we’re now into the second half of our four week “The Storytellers” series. In week 1, we learned about the foundation of what is needed in order to be an ambassador for Christ, and last week we touched on focusing on how to better listen to those around us, so that we as Christ storytellers may be able to be more loving and effective within our daily dynamics with others. This week, Pastor Tyler dives further into how Jesus modeled living day in and day out with the people he came in contact with, touching on Luke 7:34. What were His methods? What was His purpose for doing any sort of ministry? What was the motive? Though not impossible to find in this world, the way Jesus modeled “living out the story” may look a bit different then some of the dynamics we see in today’s culture. Though technology has “connected” us more easily, we do see a lot of patterns of isolation, disconnect, and distraction within our current lively constructs. How can we use our gifts, blessings, or talents to not only serve others, but to be more hospitable? What shifts can we make to model how Jesus “lived the story?” Phos Church Sunday Sermon 10-26-2025

The Storytellers - Listening for the Story
Last week, we jumped into a new series, “The Storytellers,” looking at the larger story that God calls us into within the workings of our lives and the people around us, and where the foundation of sharing that story starts from. This week out of the Book of Acts, Pastor Tyler explores the question of how we can better communicate the message of Christ. We all might have our inclinations, gifts, and ways of doing things uniquely, but at the same time, we need to find ways to relate to others in their day-to-day, as sometimes the message coming out of the church walls can be abrasive. How do we stand in truth and hold to it, while also meeting others where they are at in their life journeys? How can we better use our listening skills to relate to and love someone in a more fruitful way? It’s not necessarily an easy tightrope to walk, but with practice, patience, and a Christ-centered heart, we can perhaps learn how to be great story listeners first, which can help us become better storytellers on behalf the Kingdom. The Storytellers - Sent Into the Story
This week, we’re adventuring our way into a new, four week sermon series entitled “The Storytellers.” Our lives are made up of all sorts of stories. Even as we individually look at the micro-lens of our own journey, there is a giant, multifaceted macro-lens story that has been playing out since the beginning of time: God’s story. Whether or not we know it, we’re all playing a part in it…but if you’re a believer in Jesus, you become invited in to be an ambassador to share and live out His message to humanity. Jesus said in John 10:10 that He “…came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” As we follow His path, that story plays out in whatever way that is meant to for each of us…but we’re invited in to tell the rest of the world about who He is, why it’s important, and the good news of what is to come. But HOW do we do that effectively? How do we become “Storytellers” ourselves? In this series, we will explore some of the surrounding aspects in how to live this out in this ever-changing world. 5 Years Anniversary - One Life, Don't Waste It (Again) - Phos Church
Today, we celebrated the 5th anniversary of Phos Church! So much has happened since launch, and like any journey, it has had its peaks and valleys, but it has been an incredible ride thus far. We are truly grateful for all the support (however big or small) anyone has contributed towards the mission and vision of Phos Church since its inception. For this week’s single sermon, entitled “One Life, Don’t Waste It (again),” Pastor Tyler takes us back to the beginning (in a sense), by reviving and revising the first sermon preached at Phos Church, entitled “One Life, Don’t Waste It.” As humans, we have desire built into our being. However, it is so easy to fill those holes of inner desire with things that ultimately won’t fully satisfy us. It’s not that everything that we enjoy in our lives is necessarily bad, but we often end up putting things into the wrong order. What’s the remedy? As Psalm 37:4 states, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” We hope you enjoy today’s message, and we look forward to what God may have in store over the next 5 years! God Bless! Phos Church Sunday Sermon (5th Anniversary) 10-5-2025

The Gospel: A Life Transformed by the Gospel - Phos Church
Church Elder Joseph Lasslett is back again this week to complete our two part mini-series on “The Gospel.” Last week, we looked at what a life looks like being lived out for the Gospel. To finish things off, we dive into what it looks like to have your life transformed by the Gospel, referencing Romans 12:1-2. Born again believers of Jesus receive the Holy Spirit, and it is by that Spirit living within us that shifts and transforms hearts and minds to become more like Christ over time. In some areas of life, this can happen quickly, and in other areas, there might be more of a struggle or lifelong sanctification. Though we can never walk this life perfectly, and it is not by our own power that we shift to become more Christ-like…we are called to do our best to not conform to the patterns of this world. Transformation is received through obedience to God’s ways, and the more we’re able to instill good habits and renew our minds, as well as identify and nullify idols in our life, the more that transformation will be lived out. The Gospel: A Life Lived for the Gospel - Phos Church
Starting this week and the next, we’re doing a 2-part mini-series on simply “The Gospel.” What does a “life lived” for the Gospel look like? What about a “life transformed” by the Gospel? All through the New Testament, we’re given a roadmap of both of these concepts and how that looks for followers of Christ. One of the best books that illustrates cohesively what the Gospel is would be Apostle Paul’s “crown jewel” of his writings: the book of Romans. We’ll merely be skimming the surface of this book in this mini-series, but this week, we have Phos Church Elder Joseph Lasslett preaching on what “A Life Lived for the Gospel” looks like, referencing Romans 1:14-16. What does it look like to go all in for sharing the “good news”? Phos Church Sunday Sermon 9-21-2025

Jonah: Mercy in the Deep - Mercy Far and Wide
We’re already at the end of our 4-week series on Jonah: Mercy in the Deep. To finish things off, Pastor Tyler preaches from Jonah 4, where we see God choosing to provide mercy to the “great city” of Nineveh and spare them from the destruction that was originally on their way. Jonah’s obedience seen in chapter 3 (although, not exactly done with enthusiasm) was enough to turn the hearts and wickedness that was occurring in Nineveh, but Jonah was still very displeased with God’s choice to provide mercy and grace, as opposed to destruction. There is much that can be learned in this short book of the Bible…from following (or not following) God’s call, to checking our own hearts, to the deep characteristics and love of God, just to name a few lessons. Walking this walk with Christ in our current times is not always easy and doesn’t always make sense (especially with what has occurred in recent weeks). But if we can do our best to follow God’s call over our lives, practice love and forgiveness, stand in truth, and continue to grow, we will find life to the full, with the individual results of everything being in God’s sovereign hands. Jonah: Mercy in the Deep - Mercy for Them
We all deserve a second chance, right? We’re now in week 3 of our 4 week sermon series on the Book of Jonah, focusing on Jonah 3:1-10. God is now on round 2 of giving Jonah his specific assignment to complete in Nineveh, after being released from the belly of the big fish. Jonah is given a second chance, after going the other direction to start with, to now go on mission in Nineveh to tell of the coming destruction against the city because of their evil ways. However, despite this grace, he goes reluctantly but does complete the assignment at hand. We also see a picture of God’s great mercy and graciousness towards the Ninevites, and also a plethora of symbolic connections to other areas of the Biblical narrative all throughout this story. We hope you enjoy, and stay tuned for next week’s conclusion of our teaching on this chronicle. Phos Church Sunday Sermon 9-7-2025
